Iditarod Days is in full swing in Wasilla, with numerous events planned throughout the city, leading up to the big race! The annual musher’s ball is a big hit, and the Junior Iditarod gets everyone ready for the Last Great Race. Check www.wasillachamber.org for a complete set of events.

Denali Arts Council presents Film Festival – Oscar Animations Shorts

Location: Sheldon Community Arts Hangar
Admission: $6 DAC members / $8 non-members

This film festival features short animated films that have been nominated for the Oscars.  Doors open at 7pm.  Reservations, call 733-7929.

Our Cabin Fever Reliever Concert series continues with legendary blues-rock artist Walter Trout. Bo Porter Honky Tonk Horsepower keeps the music rolling after the show. Tickets are on sale now–  $30 general admission, $40 reserved*. Purchase by February 14 and save $5. (*convenience fees apply).  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show begins at 7:30.

One of the most grueling tests of athletics and perseverance, the human-powered Iditarod Ultra Sport starts on March 1. 50 racers will run, walk, bike, ski or snowshoe their way to McGrath along the Iditarod Trail, while the heartiest of athletes will go all the way to Nome in this ultra-marathon!

Our 2009 Cabin Fever Reliever Concert Series wraps up with guitar-driven country-rock band, The Outlaws, with dancing to the Frank Iarossi & The Good Life band after the show.
